This project was supposed to happen right after Greenland, but the Lord
had other plans....there were permits and drawings and approvals and
who knows what else to get before the project could be started!
Thankfully, the project did start at the end of September. It is a small
church with (probably) a big history.....
Here's the cornerstone of the church.....
And here's the front of the church...
The sanctuary and some of the windows....made me wonder about those families....
Were they coal miner's families?(This is coal country) How much did they have
to sacrifice to get their name on a window? Do they have living relatives still in
this town? Were some of them deacons? The Pastor?......
The good news is, the remodeling is being done behind the sanctuary where an
addition was built on in the 1980's, so this will all remain as it is. Full of history.
This project is being done in two phases. Phase one is to bring the kitchen, fellowship
hall and restroom upstairs. Phase two will be to convert the basement into classrooms,
leaving the existing restrooms and nursery there.
I'll post more pictures of the project soon, but if you haven't read the post about
Instagram be sure to check that out! It's easier for me to post on there because I
can do it from my phone. I will try to continue to update this blog though as often as I can!

Greenland......Finally!!
I must say when Terry went to Greenland in 2010, I never thought
he would go back again, or that I would go with him. Greenland
was not a place I thought I would ever go to, because I do not like
to be cold. I did say NOT right?
Well, can I just tell you God did a work in my heart and now I hope
I CAN go back there someday! We had an amazing time with the
Shull family! What TRUE missionaries they are! Every one of them!
Their children served and helped right along side! It was such a
blessing to be a part of this trip!
Without further ado, I will just give a glimpse of what the trip was
like......
I didn't put any pictures of the work on this time. The video I posted back in May
has most of them on it. Although I am not sure that video works..... I am going to
to repost it in hopes that it works!
As you can see, we really enjoyed our time even though most of the trip was
spent working! We did have some great times of fellowship as well! Like I
said earlier, I am looking forward to getting back there someday....the Lord
willing!

Apologies!!
My apologies for not getting the Greenland pictures put on here!
It is very difficult to not have internet at home, though it is an
excuse I am truly sorry for those who do check on here for
updates.
I do have Instagram which is a little easier to post on because I
can do it from my phone. I am going to try to put a link on the
side of the blog for easy access.
Please do not stop checking though! I do plan to get back to
posting on here!
God is good all the time! Even in the frustrating (no internet)
times!

Tabernacle Baptist Church, Killeen, Texas
On January 25th we left Pennsylvania headed for Killeen, Texas.
We had been contacted by Pastor Sperbeck after evangelist Randy
Starr had passed our information on to him. He had some inside
work and some outside work to do and they graciously agreed to
pay for our fuel to get there, so we were on our way.
We arrived Saturday the 27th about 3 PM. We were met by Pastor
Sperbeck and Terry got right to business checking out all the work
to be done! We enjoyed our first Sunday services with them and
then the work began......
These first three pictures show the unfinished drywall on the
ceiling. There were actually four rooms but I only got pictures of
three before he started!
Then the taping began.....
The final step was to spray texture on them....
This last picture is of the first room to be painted! Pastor Sperbeck and one
of the young men in the church did this.
The only painting Terry did was the upper part of the stairway. He set up his
scaffolding to be able to reach!
Erin did some painting though! She rolled some walls and also did a lot of trim
painting (I do not have any pictures of that)....
All four rooms were finished and ready to paint within the first week of our being there!
The next big project to get started was the soffit & fascia around the church.
For the sake of space, I will just put one before followed by the after picture...
The lift in that last picture was such a blessing! They used it for all the work around
the building and also for some work they had to do on the sign by the road.....
Can you see the piece of the cross missing? The wind had blown it out, but the day
before we left they stretched that lift out and Terry put that piece back in!(I didn't
know they were doing this so no picture of that lift all stretched out!)....
They also used the lift to convert the lights in the sign to LED.......
That picture was the day they went up to check things out. What a time that was!
Another project was fixing some drop ceiling in one of the rooms at the front of
the church.
There were some other small things done too.....he worked on almost every set of
doors on the property, cleaned & painted the big cross of the front of the building,
and Erin sorted bulletins, we cleaned the letters for the outside sign, and much more.....
We were able to show our presentation on the second Sunday night there and were
blessed (& shocked!) when they voted that night to take us on for support! Praise
the Lord! Our final Sunday there, Erin was able to help teach Junior church when
the teacher called in 10 minutes before Sunday School! And we sang as a family in
the evening service. What a blessing to be able to serve this church! As I told Mrs.
Sperbeck when we said goodbye, they have become like family in the almost 3
short weeks we spent with them!
Tomorrow morning, Lord willing, we are heading to Baytown, Texas to help a church
there that is still trying to recover from the effects of Hurricane Harvey that hit last
August. Please pray that our time there would be fruitful and that we would be a blessing.
The greatest thing about being in the Lord's work is that you go to be a blessing, yet
you end up getting blessed! Because....God is good ALL the time!

Our Fourth Year!!
As we begin our fourth year of this ministry, it is so neat to look back
and see the Lord's hand directing everything!
We sometimes get in a rush and get even our thoughts ahead of the Lord!
Our plan was to buy a toy hauler fifth-wheel right away! We wanted to
be ready to go as soon as the call came in! We thought we would just
live in it on the church property until it was time to go. Problem was
we had a graduated, working daughter and a son who was a senior in
high school, not sure what to do with his life (and working a job too).
The Lord had other plans....most of the calls we received those first
two and a half years were pretty local places. So the need was not
there to purchase that trailer....yet. We continued to rent and do the
work from home.
Then last July things changed! Josiah had decided to go to Bible
college for a year and we were GIVEN a 36' fifth-wheel trailer. It
is not the toy hauler that we thought we needed (for privacy for the
kids), but it is EXACTLY the trailer God had chosen for us! You can
read about it in the post here. In that post there are pictures along
with the story of how the Lord provided it.
It was a huge blessing because we had a trip planned to go to New
Mexico in October and we were able to take that and not only stay
in it out there, but all along the way out too! And now we are using
it again in Texas, but that's the next post!
God is good ALL the time! And it is even better when we let Him
lead the path and not get ahead of Him! We are looking forward to
using this gift from God to serve others as long as He allows!
