We headed west on October 9th and after driving three 10 hour days (!)
we finally arrived in Waterflow, New Mexico on Wednesday night, the
11th for a month long mission to help the Chitty family there.
Because of the length of the trip and the amount of projects accomplished,
I decided to split this into two posts.
This is Open Bible Baptist Church where Pastor Don Chitty and his wife have
ministered to the Navajo Indians for 42 years! His son Don, Jr. runs the school
there & his wife teaches in the school. Larry Don, another son, also helps in the
church there.
These pictures are of the chapel at the camp called His Ranch. It is about 1 mile
from the church.
Our goal was to help frame and pour a foundation for a duplex that will house
teachers for the school. They are not able to pay a teacher, but they want to
provide them with free housing!
And the finished pad....(the second half in covered by straw for protection)
As you can see, there was always plenty of help! We were so encouraged by
the young men in the church there who wanted to help! We were also thankful
to have some from our church come at different times to help ~ Becky, Brad &
Nathan. And to have Larry & Bonnie come for the month as well! And, of course,
we are so thankful to have Erin home with us yet to help too!
