in Juarez. Our first stop was at Pastor Sosa's church, he was one of the 5 pastors we
would work with this week.

but before we did that the men worked on putting huge advertising tarps on the side
of the bus....they certainly caught many an eye!
Distributing on the streets is quite an exciting thing! We were actually on a four-lane
"highway" doing this! When the light turned red you started down between the cars
holding out your John/Romans and they would put their window down a little so you
could stick it in (if they didn't have their window down already)! When the light turned
green you had to head back to the side or middle....not exactly the safest place, but as
long as you kept an eye on the light you could get out in time! Some just stayed on the
street corners and handed them out to the people who were walking.
While we were doing this, Terry went down to a small cafe area to hand his out.
There was also a hardware store there, so there were a lot of people coming and
going! He met a man from the newspaper (who knew very little English!). He
wanted to know why we were there doing what we were doing....we managed to
get Brother Hector (who had been driving the bus around because there wasn't a
place to park it). He told the man what we were doing and we ended up getting
our picture taken and put into his online newspaper! Here's the link if you would
like to see it :click here
some of the names are spelled wrong but that's all right.... The city was finding out
why we were there! Praise the Lord! He even found out where we would be the next
day and he showed up and recorded Brother Hector praying before we went out and
put that online as well!
We were heading back to Pastor Sosa's church for lunch when we came upon a
high school that had just let out for lunch......there were kids everywhere! Since
we were just creeping along we asked Brother Hector if we could get out to hand
out J/R to these kids. He opened the door and some of us jumped out and got to
work! We handed out 3 boxes in 10-15 minutes! Sorry for the poor picture
quality, I took it through the back bus window.
After lunch at the church, we went quickly to check in at the hotel and then it was
off for our first meeting in a park! The weather was cool in the morning when we
were handing out J/R along the highway, but it had turned much cooler! I wasn't
sure if we would have a great turn out as a result, but I was surprised by how many
people came out!
We ended up back at the hotel and getting to bed by 11! It was a LONG ,but
GREAT day! Praise God!
